This is an Icelandic Folk Song. I first arranged it for piano (23 Icelandic Folk Songs (2005-2006)) and then for Mixed Choir (2006) and finally for Violin & Piano (2011). The text is from a poem by Sigurdur Breidfjord (1798 – 1846). The poet states that when he plants a seed in the earth he thinks about his own body which is destined to rest in the very same earth.
