Composed for Víkingur Ólafsson & premiered by him at the Kennedy Center, Washington in February, 2013.
The composer writes: "The title of the piece is taken from Glenn Gould's radio documentary "The Idea of the North". The piece uses symmetrical chords, movement and rhythms (sparked by the ozone molecule, which has a symmetrical structure). Symmetrical rhythms have something in common with the "white", some kind of neutrality."
Duration: 4′33
