The composer writes:
"Nota bene: "Façade" is scored for 8 players. However, after entering the stage, the conductor randomly selects one player, who then does not participate in the performance, exept by sitting on the stage. Each performance thus leaves one instrumentalist out, in effect turning the piece into a septet, with one outsider."
