The composer writes: As a boy in Iceland, I often witnessed how familiar landscape and man-made objects, could be transformed into something mysterious and even frightening by mist or dense fog. The old Icelandic word "Drymla" refers to haziness or poor visibility, and is therefore an apt title for this piece, which "sonic haziness" is achieved by the sustaining pedal being held down throughout
