Elias Davidsson was born in Palestine in 1941, but has lived in Iceland for a long time. He began composing music in his early childhood and later studied piano and composition both in Germany and Switzerland. His compositions have been performed in Switzerland, Germany, France, Spain and Iceland
Elias plays piano, accordeon and lithophone (a xylophone of Icelandic stones) and has been involved for a long time with folklore. Currently he lives in Reykjavík and works as a free-lance composer and arranger. His occupation as piano teacher (1987-1990) led him to compose piano works for children. These and his other educational works for string and woodwind instruments are quite popular in German-speaking countries, the Netherlands and Denmark.
