An old church bell was found buried in front of the farm Hof in Skagafjörður, Iceland, where once there had stood a monastery. On the bell were engraved these words: Vox mea est bamba, possum depellere Satan. (My sound is bamba, get thee hence, Satan) Here reference is being made to the sound of the bell, which according to the belief of many, would drive evil away.
