Gylfi Garðarsson (b. 1956) studied classical guitar at TSDK and later composition and theory at The Reykjavik College of Music, graduating in 1987. With songwriting and composing as a pastime activity his more visible output until 2022 was music engraving of sheet music collections in Denmark and Iceland followed by his own publications of such material under the banner of Nótuútgáfan (www.songbok.is) since 1993. In 2012 he participated in founding the association of sheet music publishers in Iceland, SÍTÓN (www.siton.is), and has since been highly involved in most of the association's undertakings.
In 2021 he began revising, recording and publishing some of his own music dating from 1980 and onward with enough old and new material to carry on for the coming years.
